In the Heights centers on a tight knit group of characters living in Washington Heights, on the northern tip of Manhattan, New York. The show is narrated by Usnavi, a bodega owner, who lives in a community rich in culture, music, tradition, hopes, and dreams. When plot lines and dreams intersect with one another, it becomes increasingly harder to stay sincere to one’s own self. Characters and their relationships grow throughout the show, but sometimes, it takes a just single spark to be able to finally realize the true meaning of home. In the Heights is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.
